Jaguar & Aston Martin at Le Mans

Jaguar at Le Mans. A must-have film - Autosport

This magnificent collection charts the story of the iconic D-Type Jaguar at the world's greatest endurance race from 1954 to 1958. Created by Random Film Productions on behalf of the marque, this is an important and evocative record of some of the most memorable Le Mans races ever seen.

Wonderfully filmed in full colour, and with commentary from such luminaries as Raymond Baxter and Nevil Lloyd, these films feature pre-event build-up and highlights from the 24-hour races, featuring on-track action, rare off-track sequences and, most importantly, the fabulous sights and sounds of Jaguars, Ferraris, Maseratis, Aston Martins, Mercedes and more tackling the Circuit de la Sarthe.

The Ferrari-Jaguar grudge match of 1954, the horrific tragedy of 1955, the Ecurie Ecosse privateer delight of 1956, the 1-2-3-4 Jaguar dominance of 1957 and the disasters of 1958 - all of these classic confrontations are captured in thrilling original film, as well as the tense pit wall moments overseen by Jaguar race manager Lofty England.

This collection provides an exceptional opportunity to see legends including Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, Peter Collins, Phil Hill, Wolfgang von Trips, Duncan Hamilton, Ivor Bueb and more - as well as hearing first-hand from Hawthorn himself.

No serious motorsport enthusiast should be without this essential collection.

"The British marque has a proud history at La Sarthe and this DVD celebrates the mid-1950s success with the iconic D-type. With full-colour footage and interviews with period stars, it's a must-have film for British sportscar fans" Autosport.

Aston Martin - The David Brown Years

When industrialist Sir David Brown bought Aston Martin he began a 25-year programme of development which would see the marque established as a prestige brand, and become dominant on the racetrack.

This nostalgic film fully explores this period, from Sir David's acquisition in 1947 to his decision to sell the firm in 1972.

A feast of magnificent archive footage charts the racing history of Aston Martin, from the DB1 to the DP214, including the exploits of such legendary names as Stirling Moss, Carroll Shelby, Tony Brooks, Roy Salvadori, Peter Collins, Geoff Duke and more. We are treated to rare film of Aston Martin's great racing machines in action at the Mille Miglia, Silverstone, Goodwood, Sebring, the Nurburgring, Oulton Park, Dundrod and, of course, Le Mans - where the company scored a hard-fought victory in 1959.

There are also interviews with many of the greats, including Shelby, Salvadori, Brooks and fabled team boss John Wyer.

The programme examines the road car programme throughout the David Brown years, with evocative footage - including plenty of lingering close-ups of true design classics - following the evolving DB models up to the final under Sir David's ownership - the DBS.

The film concludes with a look at the post-DB years, right up to the iconic DB7 of the 1990s, which continued the David Brown legacy into a new generation.
